Intro: After an Houdini-esque disappearance before the end of last season, some thought it was the end for THCC F.C. but not so. With a grand sum of zero friendlies and 1 pre-season training session, the boys in black (with red stitching) donned their kits for the first game of the season in their new league (The North East London and Essex Church Football League). At first glance our opposition looked like a set of Jamaican world-record breaking sprinters, muscles bulging and all over 6 foot and considering we had most of our older players missing, this looked a difficult task for Tower. However, a wise man once said that it's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog that matters most. True to this saying, Tower started well and eventually went in front with Jimmy Nimmo marking his first game of the season with a fine goal as he cut in from the left and shot with accuracy and pace into the far bottom corner, causing the side netting to bulge and sending the Tower supporters ballistic. 3 more goals followed in the first half including a second from Mr Nimmo, altough this only to bring things level as 2 of the 3 goals mentioned were from ICC Sons, whose counter attacks were causing problems for the newly formed centre back partnership.

HT (2 - 2): After a good performance in goal for the first half of the match, Luke With came out on field and Luke Hastings took on the task of keeping goal. Unfortunately, with the wind heavily against us and with another change of goal keeper and people being played out of position due to injuries Tower struggled and eventually ended up losing 2 more goals. However, there were lots of positives to take from the game and it was clear to see that we are back in business and will hopefully build on the experiences we've had over the past three seasons to make this one great for everyone involved.

BIG THANKS TO THOSE WHO CAME TO SUPPORT: Eddie Stride, Mark Bowtell, Suzy Stride and Jeremy Newton
