About Us

Re-established in the season 2005/2006 with a vision to be a church community team, to build up relationships in the church and keep relationships with those who have been involved in or shown a heart for the church.

Finishing joint 2nd in the North London Churches League and reaching the cup final only to be cruelly knocked out on penalties after being ahead twice, the first season was a great success under tactical genius of Joe Toko. The captain of the side who had the initial vision for THCC F.C. is none other than Eddie Stride. Michael Penman helped with booking pitches, Oli Taylor dealt with all re-hydration issues, and James Grant faithfully washed the kits (and sometimes he even dried them).

In the second season, 2006/2007, Joe Toko was missing for the most part with various other commitments. Michael Penman stepped into the helm and although he did manage to make the THCC F.C. players look more fashionable in their new kits (picked out by Jon Pilkington), they finished in fourth position in the league and dropped out of the cup in the first round - admittedly against a side that had won every game that season. Nevertheless, no fewer than 22 people had the chance of playing for the side and good relationships continue to be built.

More than half of the team are young people, under 25 years of age, and many still teenagers. This prompted the traditional Old vs. Young church friendly of which there have been two rounds so far. The young ones took the glory in the first match winning 5-1, but the ‘Old School’ THCC F.C. took their share of the spoils in the second match winning 6-2 and levelling things up on aggregate. We can hardly wait for the next clash between the young and rugged street footballers and the old slow-moving but highly skilled sages of football. It’s an event for all of the family to watch!

So all in all THCC F.C. is a team for people who are part of our church family or have been touched by it. Our aim is to have lots of fun, win matches, glorify God with our behaviour on and off the pitch and enjoy one another as we work as a team together to achieve these goals.

If you are part of the church or have been touched by our church and would like to get involved in the team, please talk to Eddie Stride, Michael Penman or Joe Toko. There is a lot of interest, and are already a lot of committed players but we are hoping to involve you where possible.
